Kristi Noem is the 8th Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

Before joining President Trump’s cabinet, she served as South Dakota’s 33rd Governor and the state’s first female governor. Noem was re-elected in 2022 with the largest vote total ever recorded in South Dakota’s history.

Her public service career began in the South Dakota legislature, followed by representing the state as its sole member in the U.S. House of Representatives.

A native of South Dakota, Secretary Noem is also a rancher, farmer, small business owner, and a proud mother and grandmother.
